Ads? Nah!

As long as Google Adwords can’t match the content of my blog any better than with lipo suction, diet products and other totally irrelevant ads, I won’t smudge Very Good Food with them.

Personally, I don’t like ads on blogs very much, especially not when it’s difficult to figure out what’s the real content and what’s not. But if the ads could add some value to my readers and also roll in a reasonable amount of money, then I would reconsider using them.

Then how much did I earn, you might ask? Well, 18$. Nothing much. Not even enough for a glass of champagne!

  • The pleasure is mine.
    Thank you.

  • Ditto. Agreed. Glad to have found you, Trine.

  • I see 4.75$ isn’t much.
Hehe. Foodbuzz sounds pretty interesting! I’ll check it out! Thanks a lot for the tip.

  • I hear ya. I made a total of…hmm..$4.75 since April 2007. There are other alternatives like the one I mentioned – Foodbuzz where I’m a featured publisher. You can join and just write reviews like you do. I made some decent pocket change last month…but I don’t think I’m allowed to say how much.

  • Lord Rodney – Google Ads are something that I add myself, not something requested from companies directly. It managed by Google and companies contact Google when they wanna by Google Ads.

Jonathan – So great that you to share your experience with those ads well. How much did you earn? I might be able to earn more if I’d spend a lot of time sorting and classifying. But – hey, my time is too precious for that! 😉

  • Hhahahaha…I just got rid of my google ads. I too grew tired of looking at weight loss ads, which defeat the purpose of what I’m posting about – eating!!!! The only ads I have are from Foodbuzz. Very tasteful in many ways. Oh I think I might have a remaining ad from google? I have to check. Always shows a Chinese rice cooker, which I don’t find offensive.

  • Very grand of you Trine. Do you get a lot of requests from companies like that?
