nope – never been to Stockholm. Almost scheduled a trip there this year but decided elsewhere in the end. Maybe 2010. But didn’t we suggest a CPH rendez-vous sometime next year?

This is the first review of Schloss Berg I have read that has made the restaurant sound so tantalising! Bravo Trine

but what’s this I hear about you not managing breakfast the next day?! more training required methinks

So glad you finally made it…and even more happy that you liked it.

The menu we had there the other day, contained some of the same dishes as does indeed the above mentioned FAZ Vision menu. These FAZ Vision menues has earlier on resulted in a beautiful book by, Jürgen Dollase I hope the same goes for this years menues.

Stunning photos…cant wait go back there myself. I would love to try the full “Japanese” menu, but since the restaurant is normally not open week-days for lunch…I might not get lucky this time.

And yes, the hospitality is amazing.

I read in a magazine a review, I think it was of *** Vendome in Cologne, a whole paragraph about the booking of the table. How the author found that experience so up-lifting , that the whole dining experience for him actually was improved or at least his mood was….weeks before the dinner actually happened.

A few days after I booked a table at anoter local German top restaurant in the area, and it was the host herself. The somewhat cold, distant and “treadmill” way my reservation was treated made me a bit sad that I made the reservation, so I guess that goes both ways….

Back to Schloss Berg…so happy you have tried and liked my favourite restaurant – and thanks again for the great review.

Wonderful – much better pictures than mine. Need to get a proper camera. The eeldish is indeed fantastic – one of my current highlights. Bau has created a Japanese inspired Gourmet Vision together with Jürgen Dollase the premier German food critique which encompasses many of the dishes you had but also a couple of new ones. Will report on that soon…
