Because i have just read that truffles are ussually dig closly from Oak trees.Because near where i live thre is huge oak forest(10 acres) i wish to ask which are the chances for fidning truffles in this forest since no one have ever searched for them in this area?

What a terrific story Trine! I knew you had a Dad in the Italian food business but I’m so pedestrian that I had imagined dried sausage and pasta! White truffles from Alba!! The food of my dreams. That photo was so sensational that I swear I could smell those tubers right through the screen. I hope we get more of your food memories soon. Thanks!

Dear Jens, what a coincident! It IS a small world. You’re absolutely right, Sergio is my dad. I’m quite sure you remember correctly about the Corvo. I haven’t drunk that for many years. In fact not since we closed down the shop which was in ’97. Did you know my dad knows a lot about photography as well? Lux

Dear Trine, dear FB friend,

I didn’t know that your father was Italian. I realize now he must be Sergio Lai whom I’ve met a couple of times. I remember clearly the first time at an Italian Wine Festival in ‘Boltens Gaard’ in the beginning of the 1990′s when I was helping some friends who then imported wine from Piemonte. Right next to our stall a very nice Italian signore from Søborg was pouring wine from Sicily (I think it was Corvo) and when the fair was over, we tasted each other’s wine (and I think he offered my wife and me a bottle to take home). He told us that he had a shop called ‘La Casa dei Tartufi’.
