Hey Trine! Well we had a wonderful trip! We tried many nice restaurants and had some tastings. Fresca in San Francisco is a Peruvian restaurant we love very much. Went there 3 times. We had some of the very best Crab Cakes at Little River, Mendocino too! I think our best exp was as a whole was in San Francisco. At The Carnelian Room on the 52nd floor on top of Bank Of America Building. Drinking wine, eating Lobster in butter sauce and watching the sun go down over the bay from 220 meters up. Oh yeah that was living! We also went to visit some pretty cool wineries in Anderson Valley, Sonoma and Napa Valley. Like Outpost on Howell Mountain! For the second years in a row we drove past The French Laundry without being invited for a free dinner!!?? Hey what's up with that!!?? ;-)

Hm, “Gastronaut”. Could it be due to the fact that I used my pocket camera? Please do refer to JC’s. He brought the proper camera! However, thanks so much for your comment and your honest opinion. This is exactly what my goal is - to let people know WHY I like something in order for the people to decide for themselves whether or not this is a place for them too, or not. I try to be subjective in an objective way. People do have different taste.

Oud Sluis is July 9th, Laurent - are you joining?

Although i like fine and delicate thai cuisine, I'm not very knowledgeable in this food or even in asian food generally speaking.

And i don't know similar places as Kiin Kiin here in Paris... i hope i miss something here but i'm afraid i don't :o)

A pity they only are open for dinner (because dinner in Copenhagen = Noma or Geranium or Nouveau or Formel B, etc... question of priority :o)

Btw, can you tell me when you're going to Oud Sluis ?

Cheers
Laurent

Hey Jesper I got that book...Bought it in Australia after eating at "Sailors Thai" in Sydney in 2003, which blew me away. Unfortunately, I was there 2 years after and the quality had dropped. Anyway, great book with beautiful inviting dishes...and that brings me to my point...

Thanks for the report on Kiin Kiin Trine, I am sad to say the dishes or the presentation rather dont impress me at all. I am sure you somehow feel the same, but that the food surpassed its presentation.

As for the glasses...I totally agree with Laurent...what a shame...even sham.

Not for me this one I think, and I am happy to have learned that, so again thanks for the great input Trine.

Thank you, Laurent. Kiin Kiin really took me by surprise. How much are you into Asian food?

Wow, Jesper a Thai cooking course IN Thailand. That sounds exotic! :-D Thanks very much for the tip of David Thompson. So, I take it you love Asian food?

Good report :) Have been considering going - I used to be a great Thai food fan (even attended some hand on courses in Thailand) but some how my interest have cooled a little which you just made me realize is such a shame. Thai cuisine is so much more than store bought red curries and coconut. You might wanne have a look at Thai Food by David Thompson, it's an astounding asortment of recipes and background and sort of the cooking Bible in this field.
