I've wanted to go to Falsled for a long time, but reading your review it seems like I'll wait - at least it sounds like there are other restaurants that I ought to try prior to visiting Falsled Kro. Like you I love to be "moved" by the food, the wine, the atmosphere etc. and if Falsled in some way lacks this I'll wait. However I do not doubt that it's a fabolous experience if you go there for a weekend and get the experience as a whole, but other restaurants sound more intriguing after reading your review!- A Great to read your review Trine. I’ve wanted to go to Falsled for a long time, but reading your review it seems like I’ll wait – at least it sounds like there are other restaurants that I ought to try prior to visiting Falsled Kro.
Like you I love to be “moved” by the food, the wine, the atmosphere etc. and if Falsled in some way lacks this I’ll wait. I must admit I only looked at the Bordeaux and Burgundy selection, but I had no problems in finding many wines I wanted to try on that occasion. Thats why I found/find it wonderful.I do seem to remember, that their offering of overseas wines was very limited, but thats like that in most Danish restaurants I have visited. When will the world discover the beautiful wines of for example Margaret River, WA, Australia. Does it need to be innovative and inventing always....I am not so sure.When that is said....yeah, I was slightly disappointed as well had it not been for Marco and the wonderful Fois Gras on wild rice and sweet corn. Nice review indeed.

I think it changes the way a menu is put together a lot - the logistics just aren't the same, and you have to cater to a different audience. That said, it sounds like there were just a bit too many faux passes for it to moving Falsled to the top of my to-go-to-places list. Hm. I once had hot chocolate there, which was outstanding, but enough Valrhona chocolate and anyone can make great hot chocolate ;) (Incidentally, we stayed at Hvedholm too, when we was at Funen last - what a piture-pretty fairytale-like place, right?) You were lucky to drink such old Maury wine… i tried a spanish Xerez last month, from 1947… just terrific.
